It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…Each year the kids deliberate who gets to climb up to help Dad put lights on the roof. It’s an exciting job. I tie the harnesses (learned while growing up in a climbing family- square knots and bowlines ) And we clip people in at each end of a rope.
The pair climbs up the ladder to the roof. Dad and our oldest son sit at the top of a roof peak to counterweight while lighter kids on the other end of the rope climb out to the very edge of the roof to place lights along. It’s quite the process, but in the end it’s worth it and the lights are beautiful! It’s a favorite of ours. Merry Christmas!
