Parker Recreation

Parker’s award winning recreation department has many great ways for you to get fit this year…and have fun while doing it!

With the New Year often come new goals to develop new habits, change up an outdated routine or just find a new, fun way to meet people and socialize in a healthy way. Parker is extremely lucky to have amazing facilities and amenities available to us. For those that crave the great outdoors, the Town maintains about 250 acres of parkland, more than 1,200 of open space and more than 30 miles of concrete and soft surface trails throughout Parker.

The facilities are first class as well. Our Recreation Center features cardiovascular and circuit equipment, multi-station and free weights, fitness studios, cycling studio, lap pool, activity pool with zero-depth entry, lazy river, water slide, aquatic climbing wall and play structure as well as a therapy pool and a triple gymnasium and auxiliary gym. Our Recreation Center also offers a multitude of sports programs, camps, fitness classes and personal training. 2018 will offer some new additions to the class schedules, centered on motivation, support and accountability. Fail-Proof Resolutions is an excellent way to jumpstart your health and wellness. This one-hour class is held at the Parker Recreation Center on Monday, Jan. 8th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. or Tuesday, Jan. 9th from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Join others in the Resolution Success Group to help create an action plan to increase success with your fitness/wellness resolutions. Groups meet each Tuesday from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Parker Recreation Center from January 23rd to February 13th. Tired of feeling stressed? Learn proven, powerful methods to reduce the amount of stress you feel each day with Calm Your Overwhelm on Monday, January 29th from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Parker Recreation Center.

Thinking of tackling a Triathlon? The Parker Triathlon Team is looking for athletes who consider themselves beginners and are interested in completing their first triathlon in 2018. Athletes will meet with other like minded participants three days per week for swim, bike and run workouts led by a USA Triathlon Certified coach. In addition to group workouts, athletes will be given a weekly training plan and have exclusive access to clinics such as nutrition, strength training and open water swimming-all of which will prepare them for a sprint distance triathlon in Summer 2018. Athletes do not need any background in swimming, cycling or running. For more information, contact Justin at justin@tricoachcolorado.com. Join us for an informational meeting on January 7th at 9 a.m. at the Recreation Center.
